How to make a classic Gin Sling cocktail. This is the original before it went to Singapore featuring Gin, Sweet Vermouth and Lemon. A nice blend of sweet and tart creates a classic flavor profile that's really refreshing.
1 1/2 oz gin
3/4 oz simple syrup
1/2 oz sweet vermouth
3/4 oz fresh lemon juice (about half a lemon)
3 dashes Angostura bitters
Tonic water or club soda.
Lemon peel for garnish
Add ice to a cocktail shaker
Add all ingredients except the tonic water to the shaker.
Shake well for at least 10 seconds
Strain into a highball or old fashioned glass.
Top off with tonic water, stir gently to incorporate the tonic water.
